Fertility check after vasectomy
A few months ago I underwent vasectomy (a permanent method of contraception, my vas deferens were severed). In this procedure it is required to perform sperm count tests after 8 and 12 weeks. The vasectomy was performed in Warsaw. The first test, after 8 weeks, was also performed there (in our town there's no laboratory). The result was 0.
However, the procedure also requires another testing after 12 weeks. It happened that I forgot about it for some reason (Christmas time, gifts, shopping etc.). Suddenly the 15th week came and due to other issues, it was unlikely for me to do the test until 18-20th week. It was logistically impossible.
I bought the test via the Internet. I read on the websites about vasectomy in USA that such a test is completely sufficient, especially if the result of the first test was “zero”. I performed the test - the result was “zero”.
Contrary to what one might expect, I am a bit precautious, so I ordered two additional tests to check if everything was fine every 3-6 months during the first year after the surgery.
